Outer Banks Summer Project is designed for you to have fun with other college students after a long school year before the summer officially starts! Enjoy extensive time in community with students from Ohio State, Bowling Green, University of Cincinnati & Wittenberg who are also seeking to grow and follow Jesus. You will get twelve days in beautiful Outer Banks, NC to soak up the sun, explore the area and develop lasting friendships!

OBX SP provides you the opportunity to grow in your love for God and learn how to live out your faith while in college and beyond. Throughout the project you will participate in trainings over how to read and study your Bible, pray, apply the gospel to your life, and how to share your faith and be equipped to lead others.

OBX SP is designed to send you into the rest of your summer equipped to go serve and lead others spiritually. This could be at home, at a summer job, at an internship or on an overseas mission opportunity. It also will send you into the rest of your life equipped to follow Jesus faithfully and make disciples— in your family, friends, workplace, community, etc.

What are students saying about Summer Project?

“Summer Project in OBX gave me a place to learn, grow, and find community in my faith. The most impactful part for me was all the people. Being around other believers who wanted to further their relationship with Jesus gave me inspiration and also support. SP helped me to develop leadership skills that led me to start a Bible study in my hometown for the rest of the summer! Being there truly was the best two weeks of my summer and changed me for the better.”

Katie Seaman, The Ohio State University

“I cannot thank God enough for allowing me to be apart of Summer Project: OBX. I entered SP with a passion for Christ but a lack of understanding of how to share my faith. Fortunately, through the study of Christ’s compassion and the plethora of workshops on evangelism, I left with the confidence to advance the kingdom of God wherever I am!”

Bauldwine Lazare, Bowling Green State University

“SP was truly an amazing experience getting to meet fellow followers in Christ. Before coming to SP I was so nervous about going since I never met a lot of the people that went, but as soon as I got there, I was welcomed with such nice and loving people all helping each other with the love of Christ. After SP, I still apply a lot of the things that I learned to my everyday walk with Christ. It really was one of the best experiences that I have ever had.”

Stephan Pagan, University of Cincinnati

“For me Summer Project was a chance to pause after a busy season of school and connect with the Lord and and my brothers and sisters in Christ. It’s a wonderful environment of encouragement, discipleship, and worship that grew my faith in Jesus and confidence to share His Word. It really showed me God’s faithfulness to provide what we need exactly when we need it.”

Jack Davis, The Ohio State University

“SP was an experience that I will never forget. It helped me grow in the ways that I am open in my faith and confidence as a believer. It helped me build so many lasting Godly relationships that helped me see a much bigger perspective on community. Personally, I grew to know the compassion of Christ on a deeper level which has allowed me to think about how I can be more like Christ to those around me. I highly recommend attending SP because of how much it has the potential to grow you and your relationship with the Lord and the way you approach those around you in your community.”

Emma Carpenter, Bowling Green State University

“Summer Project truly helped me grow both in faith and in community. I was able to grow closer with students from other campuses and also with students from my own campus through meaningful conversations. Together we learned skills that helped us further grow our relationship with Christ, and we also learned how to spread His word to others. I was very hesitant to go at first, but it was one of the best decisions I ever made. We were not meant to go through our spiritual journey alone, and SP is a great opportunity to grow in community with other believers!”

Hanna Schroeder, University of Cincinnati
